I am very disappointed in this company's handling of random outages that are not caused by storms, wind or otherwise inclement weather. My youngest son and I traveled from Rochester to Saint Cloud to celebrate my son's birthday at his house over the weekend, and the lights went out at my son's house. We travel to Saint Cloud only 2 times a year, and you can imagine how disappointed we all were that we could not enjoy the celebration as usual because the lights were out for about 8 hours. As it was my son's birthday pie had spoiled - along with other food in the refrigerator - and they had to throw it out. They have two kids ages two and four. Now they aren't a well to do couple, so they had to try to make ends meet and shop for more food, including running out to get milk in the morning fo
I did the online request to stop my service as I was moving. I filled out the request on May 5th to end service on May 10th. I got an email from excel energy stating they recieved my request, and some requests needed to be entered manually. This may take up to 2 weeks but the service would end on the day requested, May 10th on my case. I also got a reference number after I filled out the online form. Well I got my bill June 2nd and I was billed for service thru May 26th. I called customer service and was told to forward my confirmation email to them I did. They told me to resubmit my request. Well, its now June 3rd and thats the earliest I could request to end service. So I emailed my reference number and asked them to look into it. They responded that I had service till May 26th. I asked
Paid my bill online on the due date. Received confirmation number and everything only to get a past due notice 3 days later as their systems don't talk to each other. Good way to scam people into double paying on their bills.
Xcel routinely engages in deceptive and poor billing practices. They overcharged me for a year on a home they had notice I moved out of. I had to fight for months to get those overages credited. I was promised an additional credit due to the amount of time I had to spend to get it fixed. They did not pay the statutory interest on the overcharges that were refunded until 6 months after they refunded the overcharges. They are now refusing the additional credit they promised me. How this company continues to exist and hasn't been shut down by the state is beyond me. If you have any alternative option, take it.
Highway Robery for gas costs, nothing says merry Christmas like opening your bill to $350. Just to hear your house. Looked at my usage comparison from last year, no difference just their mass gas price hike! I wish we could choose another option.
